Follow Me As I Lose Weight

Welcome Sunset

If you are looking to lose weight and improve your overall health, I hope my website helps you.
My name is Rebecca Paden and I am starting a weight loss program. I am recording my food intake in the "Diet Diary" on this site.  I have tried many diets, they all claim they have the answer. I have tried low calorie, low carb, low fat...I have lost some weight and gained it all back and more. I am currently at 208 lbs and 5'2" tall. I am pretty active and I am a member of a local gym. I do not really work out much, but I am not a couch potato. I have four children ranging in age from four to twenty-seven years old.

My oldest two children are from a previous marriage. My oldest, Christine, struggles to stay slim and has a few pounds to lose. My oldest son, mark, would benefit from losing maybe five pounds but he is just about right.

My middle son, William is twenty years old. He has a weight issue and really needs to lose around seventy-five pounds. It is causing him more problems than just appearance. He is not active at all and I believe he does not feel like moving much. He has passed out a few times because he has not eaten any food at all. He will go most of the day and not eat anything. Then, he just eats what he can find and it is probably not too healthy. He currently is not in college anymore and he had so much potential. He is very smart, but appears very lazy and unmotivated. He is very involved in computer gaming and I believe that contributes to his inactivity. This all worries me very much. He seems depressed and sad. He is very timid and blames his obesity on why he is so insecure and unable to meet people, especially a girl. I am concerned about his self-esteem, but also his health. His father's family has a history of heart disease. Actually a little of that in my family too.

My fourth child is James. He is an active four year old. He was born at 32 weeks and weighed 3 lbs. He is a little small for four years old, but doing just fine. He is seldom sick other than a cat allergy. Based on the fact that his brother is obese, mother and father, I am even more concerned that he learn to eat right and not crave foods that are bad for him. It is time for a change.

"It is easier to change a man's religion than to change his diet."-Margaret Mead

I respect Dr. McDougall and his program. I have studied what I can from his books and I am not wanting to plagerize anything he has written. In my website I will be using parts of his book so as to word it best as he has done. Thank you Dr. McDougall for your books and information. I hope this is uplifting to you and your program and nothing negative. For more information on Dr. McDougall and his program go to his website at www.drmcdougall.com
